Day Three: An Expression of God’s love

What is God’s love?
God’s love is not just an emotion, it is a compelling force and an expression of unconditional love; God did not even wait for us to come to repentance to earn his love , he called us to himself through his love such that while we were sinners he died for us . Gods love is unfailing and does not cause doubt or confusion, it is clear and restorative in nature. God loves us so much that he knows the number of hair on our head, he even engraved our name in his palm, we are precious in his eyes, Isaiah 43:4.
What Christ did for us; He loved us and gave himself for us
God loved man so much that even when He sinned against him he still had a plan to redeem him to himself, Christ is the bridge that reconnected us with the father so that we are no longer slaves but Sons. He sent his only begotten son so that he may live among us and be subjected to the flesh for our sin. Like the prodigal son we erred and wandered so far into the wilderness and the pleasure of the world, so arrogantly and ignorantly, yet God waited patiently for us to return to him and when we where reconciled to him God rejoiced counting not our sin.
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.”
John 3:16-17
Christ was the Shepard and we were the lost sheep, he left all 99 sheep (the riches of his kingdom) just to look for a single us, so that we can be reconcile to the father, that is how important we are to him. Like a sheep Christ was led to be slaughtered , he would have opted out or have begged or apologized to the pharisees or even bribed Herod but no!!, Jesus Christ endured our sin, he endured the pain, shame, burden, guilt and forsake so that through him we could experience what love truly is.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
john 15:13

Gods love Manifested in Christ Death
We did not pay a dime to be saved, it was love that paid the Rand-some for our soul. We were like debtors that helplessly owed so much that they couldn’t pay but Christ came and died to clear all our debt, he became our guarantor to the father. God demonstrated his love through the death of Jesus on the cross, so that through the death of one man the entire world was reconciled to him.
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10.
His love was made manifest in Jesus being mocked, whipped, scorned, and, ultimately, crucified on the cross. According to Danny Russell “Jesus’s love wasn’t an empty promise. It wasn’t fluff to make the disciples feel better. It wasn’t intended to be turned into self-help motivation. His love was in every whip on his back, every step on his journey to Calvary, and every nail driven into his body…”
We know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s judgment. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God — all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.
Romans 5:5, 8-11
Though we were God’s enemies, he did not desire for any of us to perish. Though we rebelled against God, he took the punishment we deserved. And though we are sinful in our very nature, he made a way for us to return to him through the death of Christ.
God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s special favor that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms — all because we are one with Christ Jesus. And so God can always point to us as examples of the incredible wealth of his favor and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-7

Realization of God’s love?
God’s love is eternal, his love is not periodic or conditional, God’s love will not change even though we sin against him, just like the prodigal son’s father God hands are always open to embrace us, no matter how far we have wandered, No matter how bad you think your sin is God’s love supersedes it. God’s love is peculiar, he loves us no matter what we have done, how far we have gone from him or what we think about ourselves or what others have thought about us, God loves us even when we don’t love our-self, even when we don’t feel like it God still love us, all he want us to do is to trust him and have faith in him.
Anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us…
